I would like to take the opportunity to THANKS all the visitors who has visited my blog time to time and made my Blog a BIG HIT.

It is clearly visible from the fact that 1000 visitor has visited my blog since it's inception's on Monday, February 16, 2009 when I posted my first Article on Guru Nanak Sahib Ji.

In a short period of 86 days,visit of 1,000 visitor is an encouraging thing.

But I request all of you to make my BLOG a SUPER HIT BLOG.

Till now I have received visitors from Singapore,Spain,U.K.,USA,besides India.A humble THANKS to all of them once again.

Chhota Ghallughara (lesser holocaust)

17th May 2009 is the 264th Anniversary of Chhota Ghallughara (lesser holocaust) I pay my TRIBUTE to the GREAT MARTYRS of Chhota Ghallughara.
In Brief :-
In order to avenge the death of his brother, Diwan Lakhpat Rai, again launched an all-out campaign and set forth with a large army. The Sikhs were brought to bay in a dense bush near Kahnuwan, in the Gurdaspur district. They put up determined fight, but were overwhelmed by the superior numbers of the enemy and scattered with heavy losses. They were chased into hills. More than 7000 sikhs attained martyrdom in Two & Half Month long fighting in 1746AD. "To complete revenge" says Syed Mohammad Latif, another historian of the Punjab, "Lakhpat Rai brought 1000 Sikhs in irons to Lahore, having compelled them to ride on donkeys, bare-backed, paraded them in the bazars. They were, then taken to the horse-market outside Delhi Gate, and there beheaded one after another without mercy." So indiscriminate and extensive was the killing that the campaign is known in Sikh history as the Chhota Ghalughara or the lesser holocaust. The Wadda Ghalughara or the greater holocaust was to come later.

Ghallughara (Bloody Carnage)

With the creation of Khalsa on March 30,1699AD, the Khalsa created history and since the birth of Khalsa, the history of Punjab has been the history of Sikhs.
Baisakhi played a significant role in this regard. In 1762, Ahmed Shah Abdali, with the sole purpose to destroy the entire Sikh nation, declared 'Jehad'(holy-war) against the Sikhs and all the Muslims of the Punjab rallied under this slogan.
The Sikhs were surrounded near the village Kup in Ludhiana District. Chronicles mention that about twenty thousand Sikhs were martyred in a single day. This event is known in the history of the Sikhs as "Ghallughara" (Bloody Carnage).
After this, Ahmed Shah Abdali thought that he had crushed the entire Sikh nation, but was greatly disillusioned when after a few months heard that the Sikhs in large number are celebrating Baisakhi at Golden Temple Amritsar.
In due course of time Baisakhi reminds every Sikh of his cultural and religious heritage. On Baisakhi day all the Sikhs used to assemble at Amritsar and decide their problems relating to politics and religion. This convention still goes on.

Tribute to a Great Actor-Director Feroz Khan Ji

Feroz Khan a Great Film personality died in the early hours of 27th April 2009.He lost his battle with CANCER.

He was born in Bangaluru,Karnataka (India).

He was 69.

The Legend Hero of our Bollywood started his film career as a Hero but later directed many super hit films.

When I was a child & lives in Karol Bagh,New Delhi India I saw his film-along with my family-EK SAPERA EK LOOTERA

The film was made in 1965 I like the song of this film very much which is still fresh in my memories.

The song was sung by another Great Singer Mr. Mohd Rafi

The song is HUM TUMSE JUDA HO KE....... MER JAAYE GE RO RO KE.

When I become Young He directed a film QURBANI.

In this film he also acted as a Hero & the film was a Great Hit.

I pay my tribute to this Great Actor-Director of our Indian Cinema.

In my opinion he is the KOH-I-NOOR of our film Industry.

Some of his superhit films are Dharmatma,Qurbani,Jaanbaz etc.,

BAISAKHI OR VAISAKHI-THE BIRTH DAY OF KHALSA

Baisakhi is generally celebrated on the First Day of BAISAKH (Indian month)

On this memorable Baisakhi day on March,30 of A.D.1699 , Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji-The tenthGuru ( Master) of the Sikhs, called a big meeting at Kesgarh Sahib near the City of Anandpur Sahib,Punjab INDIA.

Between fifty to eighty thousand Sikhs attended this meeting. When all were expecting to hear words of comfort and consolation from the lips of their Guru, they were perturbed to see him with a drawn sword in his hand and cried ' Is there anyone here who would lay down his life for Dharam?'

There was a big silence, but the Guru went on repeating his demand.

At the third call Daya Ram, a Khatri of Lahore, rose from his seat and offered himself. The Guru took him into an adjoining enclosure and soon after came out with the (blood) dripping sword in hand and flourshing it before the gathering, asked again, 'Is there any other Sikh here who will offer himself as a sacrifice(for the cause of dharma)?

At this Daram Das, a Jat of Delhi came forward and was taken into the enclosure.The Guru again came out with the blood-stained sword, and made his previous demand. In the same way three other men stood up, one after another, and offered themselves for the sacrifice. One was Mohkam Chand, a chhimba of Dwarka (Gujarat State); another was Himmat, a cook of Jagannath (Orissa State); and the third was Sahib Chand, a barber of Bidar (Karnataka State).

The Guru, after dressing the five in handsome clothes, brought them from the assembly.

These five were then administered 'Khande di Pahul' (the double-edged Sword Amrit). They were then knighted as Singhs, as the Five beloved ones (Panj Payare), the first members of the Order of the Khalsa.

The Guru then asked them to administer the Pahul (Sikhism's way of Baptism) to him in the same manner in which he had given the Pahul to them, and it was done so.

The Baisakhi is generally celebrated on 13th April every year.This year as per the NANAKSHAHI CALANDER the Baisakhi is on 14th April 2009

· To check out the possibility of any other HUMAN Victim in the other parts of Punjab India.

· As the subject is very serious. The govt must give adequate Financial Support to PGI Chandigarh for Conducting Research and studies on this subject.

· The Punjab Government must inform the Center government about this fact so that the dieses could be controlled well in time.

· Center also gives adequate support to the Visiting South African Toxicologist Team.

SAHIBZADA JUJHAR SINGH JI

Jujhar Singh, Sahibzada (1691 - 1705), the second son of Guru Gobind Singh, was born to Mata Jito ji (also known as Mata Sundari ji) at Anandpur on 14 March 1691 (is now celebrated on 9 April each year - Nanakshahi calendar). Like his elder brother, Ajit Singh, he started training in the fighting skills (Gatka) as soon as he started learning the religious texts aged about 4 to 5 years. In 1699, when he was eight years old, he received holy Amrit at the rites of Khalsa initiation, called Amrit Sanskar. By the time it became necessary to leave Anandpur under the pressure of a besieging host in December 1705, Jujhar Singh, nearing the completion of his fifteenth year, was an experienced young warrior, strong and fearless.
He was one of the band that successfully waded through the flooded Sarsa rivulet on horseback and made good their way to Chamkaur by nightfall on 6 December 1705, with the adversary in hot pursuit. With little respite during the night, he participated in the next day's battle warding off assault after assault upon the "garhi", the fortified house in which Guru Gobind Singh had, along with his 40 Sikhs and two sons, taken shelter. As they ran out of ammunition and arrows, Sikhs inside split themselves into batches of five each who would go out one after the other to engage the besiegers in hand to hand combat. Jujhar Singh led the last sally towards the end of the day (7 December 1705), and laid down his life fighting near the place where he had earlier seen his elder brother fall. He was just 14 years old when he gave his life while his older brother was 18 years old when they gave their lives for their faith. Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib in Chamkaur Sahib now marks the site.

TRIBUTE TO SHAHID BHAGAT SINGH

Shahid Bhagat Singh was hanged along with His fellow Freedom Fighters RAJGURU & SUKHDEV by the British Ruler on 23rd March 1931.

Holla Mohalla...............Sri Anandpur Sahib

‘Holla Mohalla’, was started by Guru Gobind Singh ji, the tenth Nanak for infusing martial spirit amongst the Sikhs well before the birth of the Khalsa in 1699.

Guru Gobind Singh ji had felt the need to revive the spirit of Holi, and weave its essence into a festival created in the Khalsa traditions.

Thus in 1701 A.D. the Sikh festival “Holla Mohalla” came into being to reaffirm fraternity and brotherhood.

Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib in Punjab have been playing host to Hola Mohalla since then.
